Thumbnails & GIFs
Control how your video looks before it plays with a thumbnail or looping GIF.
Control how your video looks before it plays — a strong thumbnail or looping preview GIF increases play rates on share pages.
Set a thumbnail
1
Open a video and go to the Settings tab.
2
Under Thumbnail, click Upload thumbnail to use your own image (JPG or PNG, 16:9 recommended).
3
Or click Auto-generate to let vitelnk extract a frame from your video.
4
Save — the thumbnail appears on the share page, in rooms, and in your dashboard card.
💡 A custom thumbnail with a person's face or a clear product shot consistently outperforms auto-generated frames. Upload a 1280×720 JPG for best results.
Add a preview GIF
A looping GIF plays silently on the share page instead of a static image, grabbing attention before the viewer presses play.
1
In the Settings tab, scroll to Preview GIF.
2
Upload a GIF, or use Auto-generate to create one from a time range you pick in the video.
3
Set the start time and duration (2–6 seconds works well).
4
Save. The GIF plays on hover on the share page and in rooms.
