Ice Storm 2012 part 2

Another tree fell down last night and again came about 6 feet from our deck. Yes, that's the kids swing set in that mess. Power went out somewhere between 10:30pm and 11:30pm last night. It came on about 1pm today.

I was already boiling a whole chicken to make chicken noodle soup with homemade noodles when the power came on so we just continued with that. We have a gas stove (we cant use the oven, or I don't know how to use the oven since its digital) but we can use the stove top and we have two gas fireplaces (cant use the fans on them but they still put out some heat) and if all else fails, we could go out to the camp trailer. The non used roads like out front of our house are still covered in snow that has melted some and refroze. The main used roads are bare and wet. And just a few minutes ago, it started to rain, pretty hard.

Ice Storm 2012

we have had some snow over the past couple days. Monday was a holiday, Tuesday, no am kindergarten. The rest of the school was 2 hours late. Wednesday no school due to snow, Thursday no school due to snow. Now Friday, no school due to the ice storm. The above picture is a tree in our back yard. If it had broke lower down, it would have hit our deck or house.
