EXQUISITELY THRILLING SOLTI!!!!!!!!!!!
A Rossini Overture!
Same guy who wrote the Lone Ranger theme : )
This performance is so tight and precise
Starts out slow and builds to an exciting celebration
Artistically and emotionally moving and exciting
I grew up on Solti's conducting
He was one of the world's greatest conductors
Sir Geoge Solti and the Chicago Symphony Orchestra
Perhaps one of symphonic music's greatest
Conductor / Orchestra collaborations in history
They were exquisite
If you find recordings of them together
You cannot go wrong in purchasing those recordings
That brass section was one of the world's finest of that time
Enjoy the great opening chorale of the French horns, song of the oboes, the flight of the piccolo and woodwinds, the Pizzicato (plucking) of the strings - so together (tight), and the trombone's bombast WOOF! Notice how perfectly they strike and release those loud full orchestra chords. This is a supremely glorious performance
from the one who uploaded this video:
"Rossini's Semiramide played by the Chicago Symphony under the baton of Sir Georg Solti during the mid '70s. This comes from an amazing 4 DVD set called Solti - The Maestro - go out and buy it if you love the Chicago Symphony and Solti."
