Music of my Childhood: "Java" by Al Hirt

Image
 My earliest memories go back
To when I was around four-years-old
One of the most dominate memories
Is of this Philco Stereo Record Player Console
That we had in our home
It had a record player and an AM/FM radio
Image
To me, it was the greatest treasure we had
It was like my best Friend
Because through it came all the music I loved
I had it until I was 15-years-old
When lightning during a tornado fried it
Our house wasn't damaged
But my old Friend, Philco, was done for

There are many songs I remember playing
Over and over and over again
For the next week or so
I will be playing music from my childhood
That I played on this 1960's Philco stereo

I hope you will enjoy the journey back in time

Today's Track:
I about wore out the track of this song
It was my favorite as a four-year-old
It is also one of the reasons
I became a trumpet player later in life

MUSIC: Kathleen Battle & Wynton Marsalis performing "Let the Bright Seraphim"

Image
WOW PERFECTION WOW

STRONGLY RECOMMENDED
I hope you don't miss this one
Thanks to a Friend of AOM for sending this to us

The perfect duet for this glorious music

"Joyous. For once the trumpet is given its due and we hear a duet, as intended. Both musicians are superb, No problems of balance here for me, it's not supposed to be a contest! The brightness of Marsalis is beautifully matched by Battle's ringing, focused tone." (YouTube Comment)

"The most beautiful musical collaboration of all times. I never get tired of listening to this. Wynton is superb and Kathleen's voice is literally heavenly." (YouTube Comment)
