Progressbar, ProgressbarOS or Progress Computer (abbreviated as PBOS, PB or PC) is one of the three operating system lines present in Progressbar95. It is modelled off of the Microsoft Windows operating system.

This OS line is divided into 2 sections: Progress Computer and Progress Server. Progress Computer is made for consumer computers, and include basic game modes and features. Progress Server is considered superior to Progress Computer, as server systems generate points 5 times faster in Idle Network and include the custom game mode from Progressbar NOT systems.

To unlock the main releases of Progress Computer, one must achieve the minimum CPU, RAM, and HDD requirements, but to unlock the special releases, the player must play the game for a specific number of days consecutively (only in the mobile version), earn a huge amount of points, or get a certain number of badges. To unlock Progress Server systems, you must reach Grand on certain systems (Progressbar 3.14, Progressbar 98, and so on), or reach a certain number of levels after reaching Professional on the PC version.

After completing a certain number of levels, it's possible to get a special label, which upgrades the edition of the current system. These editions are, from lowest to highest:

7. Ultimate
8. Other

Editions

When you get to a specific level in an operating system, you unlock an edition for it. Editions give you a point bonus, a badge, and sometimes new features or elements.

Trivia

• According to the Progressbar website in Browser, the Progressbar lineup of systems was created and initially developed by Progressdata Refinement Department. Later, a subdivision of the company called Progressbar Corporation was created to continue the development of the lineup.
• Before 0.9290, Progressbar NOT 4.0 Server was unlocked by getting a Grand label on Progressbar NOT 4.0, but because NOT 4.0 wasn't in Idle Network, the decision was changed; this was also the case with Progressbar NOT 3.60 Server (CLIP159Modding). This, however, was not the case with Progressbar NOT 5.0, since it appears in Idle Network.
• Progressbar Home Server is the first Progressbar Server system that does not use a gray wallpaper. The second one is Progressbar Server 2007, the third one is Progressbar Home Server 2010 and the fourth one is Progressbar Server 201X.
• Progressbar Server systems used gray backgrounds as placeholder wallpapers instead of the beta wallpapers.
• When you get your first label of any edition, you will be rewarded with an achievement associated with it.
• It is worth mentioning that there is a paradox surrounding the idea that Progressbar 3 (Vicktrixx) uses sound effects of a door for its startup and shutdown sounds, due to an update of Windows 3.0 featuring multimedia extensions having sounds compared to the original version of Windows 3.0.
• Most of the Grand logos for Progressbar systems are black or a very dark shade of gray, which makes it difficult to see when starting up sometimes. In Progressbar 3 (Vicktrixx), the Grand logo is in a more whiter shade.
