You can change from one wallpaper to another. There are 10 built-in wallpapers on all Progressbar and BarOS systems and 1 built-in wallpaper on all server systems. The first one is unlocked by installing the operating system itself, and the next ones are unlocked after reaching a certain level.
The ability to change to custom wallpapers in operating systems becomes available when reaching the Pro label. This option is unavailable in PB-DOS Shell to Progressbar 2, B OS and in the PC version (except in Bar System 2 to BarOS 8 and BAR/X).
In Bar System 2 to BarOS 8 and BAR/X, a pattern editor is used instead of a user wallpaper. Like user wallpapers, it can be unlocked when reaching the Pro label. It can be also unlocked by buying it for 5 Product Keys.
In versions prior to 0.54, there would be an option to replace the wallpaper with the one currently selected for the system.
In BarOS 14, a toggle for animated wallpapers is present. When enabled, the current wallpaper will be animated.
Before version 1.0060, the 1st, 5th and 10th wallpapers in BarOS 14 were only able to be animated, while the rest were just white.

In BarOS and B OS, some settings are absent, such as: User, Accessibility, Display and Themes.
The "Display" setting is unaffected on the PC version, as it lets players switch between full-screen and windowed modes.
The "Display" setting can be also found in the PC version of B OS, with the same options as Progressbar's Display setting (excluding Cursor and Fonts).
In BarOS 8 and later, the Themes setting can be found.
In BAR/X and BarOS 10 onwards, the User setting can be found.
In 1.10, the Accessibility options will finally get added to BarOS and B OS (BC Kernel).

The earliest system the "Themes" setting can be found on is Progressbar 95 plus (excluding Progressbar NOT 4.0). It appears in BarOS starting from BarOS 8 (excluding BAR/X).

Although the Cursor setting is unavailable in PB-DOS Shell, BarOS and B OS, if the cursor trails option is enabled, the cursor will still have a trail in such systems.
In Progressbar Nepbar, Settings can be accessed also by the desktop, along with, for some reason, Themes option.
In one of the older versions, there were inactive buttons with Klingon and C++ languages in the language selection menu.
