Here is how the Congressional Budget Office analyzes the proposed cuts to Planned Parenthood.

By CBO’s estimates, in the one-year period in which federal funds for Planned Parenthood would be prohibited under the legislation, the number of births in the Medicaid program would increase by several thousand, increasing direct spending for Medicaid by $21 million in 2017 and by $77 million over the 2017-2026 period. Overall, with those costs netted against the savings estimated above, implementing the provision would reduce direct spending by $156 million over the 2017-2026 period, CBO estimates.

Disproportionally killing black and hispanic babies

Dr. Susan Berry writes about Planned Parenthood,

which now rakes in more than $500 million in taxpayer funding annually – grew to perform over 300,000 abortions per year in the United States. According to the 2010 census, 79 percent of Planned Parenthood’s surgical abortion facilities are located within walking distance of black or Hispanic neighborhoods.

Planned Parenthood is celebrating its centennial anniversary, the same year its dream presidential candidate, Hillary Clinton, is vowing to ensure more black women can have abortions because taxpayers will pay for them.

Some 59 million abortions have been performed in the country since the Supreme Court’s Roe v. Wade decision in 1973, nearly 18 million of them on black babies. As Breitbart News has reported, the Alan Guttmacher Institute also provided data showing that about 30 percent of all abortions in the U.S. are performed on black women, with another 25 percent performed on Hispanic women.

Perhaps the most stirring statistic comes from New York City, where more black babies are aborted than are born.

...Sanger, who began the Negro Project in 1939 and worked to bring birth control to blacks in an effort to reduce their population, joined with elite and well known African-Americans Mary McLeod Bethune, W.E.B. DuBois, and Rev. Adam Clayton Powell, Sr. The Negro Project was sold as a solution to poverty and high birth rates among the black community. At the same time Sanger promoted her theory of “eliminating the unfit,” she also condemned charitable organizations that she believed were elevating the very population that needed to be weeded out.

...In January, when Clinton accepted the official endorsement of Planned Parenthood, she also called for an end to the Hyde Amendment so that more low-income black and Hispanic women could obtain abortions on demand on the taxpayer’s dime.

“I will always defend Planned Parenthood,” Clinton said. “And I will say – consistently and proudly – Planned Parenthood should be funded, supported, and appreciated; not undermined, misrepresented, and demonized.”

Clinton, who also said unborn babies have no constitutional rights, added that women have the right to abortion.

Abortions continue to decrease

Live Action News reports that the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) has published a report indicating that

abortions have decreased in the last year, a trend that has continued for the past 25 years.

According to the latest data, published November 27, 2015, abortions fell by more than 31,000 from the previous year. In 2012, 699,202 abortions were reported to CDC, down 31,120 from the 730,322 abortions reported in 2011. From 2011 to 2012, the total number and ratio of reported abortions decreased 4% and the abortion rate decreased 5%. From 2003 to 2012, the total number, rate, and ratio of reported abortions decreased 17%, 18%, and 14%, respectively, and reached their lowest level in 2012 for the entire period of analysis (2003–2012).

Planned Parenthood's deceptive claims

Hundreds of women called their local Planned Parenthood clinics Monday to schedule a mammogram, but none were able to successfully secure an appointment. That’s because the nation’s largest abortion provider doesn’t actually offer them.

The phone calls were part of “Schedule Your Mammogram Day,” an event organized by And Then There Were None, a pro-life organization, to raise awareness of Planned Parenthood’s deceptive claims on women’s health.

...But in reality, there are 8,735 licensed mammography facilities in the United States, and Planned Parenthood operates none of them. The closest that the nation’s largest abortion provider gets to offering mammogram services is referring women to one of those other facilities.

...While Planned Parenthood doesn’t offer any mammograms, it performs more than 300,000 abortions each year and harvests the organs of aborted babies for sale. This practice is driving the debate surrounding whether to continue sending federal funds to Planned Parenthood to the tune of some $500 million each year.

Since pregnancy is not a disease, this disagreement isn’t really about women’s health, after all. It’s really about whether the government will continue to funnel tax dollars to the nation’s largest abortion provider, whose officials have been caught on tape admitting that they are able and willing to alter abortion procedures to get more organs out of the babies without properly gaining consent from women.

Bad choices and good choices

Liberals love to give women the choice of aborting their babies. Liberals are less fond of giving black families the choice to send their children to charter schools in their neighborhoods, where the old theory that blacks must sit next to white children in order to get a good education is being disproved.
