whaaa happened?

if you needed proof:

- instead of going to dinner with friends on a weeknight, i sit at home and read a paper for journal club.

- i am totally obsessed with my fantasy baseball team. and, by the way, MY TEAM SUCKS.

okay Jeff, i love ya, but i think the consensus is that you're a wuss for not liking the word "oozing". truth be told, i could have been more graphic. and be happy i didn't post a picture.

and that's my report thus far today. over and out, jena (a.k.a. cheddah, dewey, jya, etc)

went to see the dermatologist this morning since my big scar had been oozing a bit (yeah, ewwww) and i was getting worried about it. so she took a look and thinks it's a secondary effect of the cortisone and not to worry too much. since i had an appointment for next friday for more cortisone, she had me cancel that and took care of it today. i counted 18 little pricks. that part didn't hurt too much but what did sting a bit was when the cortisone actually went in. she said it was a lot harder to inject the cortisone this time since the scars had gotten more keloidy and full of collagen. yuck.

so now i'm shopping for bungapads (or similar!) to wear when i'm skating so there's not too much direct rubbing on my poor little scars. er, poor big scars.

Liz and the ATeam1 for pulling off the upset at Logitech last night. with a short bench! against the #1 seed! woooo!

made it up to Belmont last night for my first green practice last night and i had a blast! of course it was made fun by having SecretWeapon on the ice at the same time, and SoopahViv as a coach. i had some folks tell me that i should be skating red this season but i'm very comfortable with my decision to skate in green. i don't really know if i was really a red skater and this season will let me (hopefully) get better at things that need vast improvement: stopping on my left side, crossovers (especially left over right), and backwards skating.

it seems like it will be a fun bunch of folks to play with even if we are stuck with squads instead of teams. with teams, i just like knowing that i can get to know someone's tendencies and not have to adjust to playing with someone new each game, but i guess that's part of learning. so as long as i'm on the ice and not wearing da boot, i'll be happy. :-)
