the yard in Monterey - it just don't get smaller
so i've been pretty good, i think, about not using my right arm too much. this weekend marks when i could have returned to "whatever activity i want to", but it ain't gonna happen. i'm too gun-shy and now my left shoulder is starting to hurt. i am starting to believe that i really might have been born with not-tight-enough ligaments, so i'm not going to tempt fate at this point.
not playing hockey and not seeing my friends? yeah, it sucks tremendously, but at least i can be of some use. my folks have decided to re-do their front driveway to enjoy it now and for increasing potential selling ability down the line, though i'm not letting myself think about the latter. so last weekend was spent trimming plants, trees, shrubs, etc. that line the driveway. then the folks informed me that they wanted to redo some of the paths in the backyard. my dad made a few trips to get some more flagstone and pebbles to line the path, and we spent the afternoon moving the old flagstone and clearing weeds from the area.
i wish i could help more, but alas, one-handed yard work is not easy. at least i'm there to make sure they pace themselves. Gouda and i will be returning this coming weekend to lend more hands to the project.
in the meantime, i can't believe it is only tuesday. feels like it should be at least thursday.
i started watching "her0es" last night and it might take me a while to get through season one at my current rate of 2 rentals/month. i might have to change that. in fact, i might do that now...
