mid-week ramblings
- allergies suck.
- i spent most of today thinking that it was tuesday, so i guess i was pleasantly surprised when i found out it was wednesday. after all, it's that much closer to the weekend.
- last night i got to see my boss' kids, Lucas and Vivian (super in her own way, but by no means Soopah!). they are almost 5 and just over 3, respectively, and just a bundle of joy. as soon as i rang the doorbell i heard really really shrill squeals and i didn't stop smiling the whole time i was there.
- Snow. not only is he a wannabe white rapper, but he's Canadian.
- just finished reading the novel "Icy Sparks" which was great up until the last few chapters. it's unfortunate that by the end of the book, i regretted ever reading it because the first 3/4 of it was very moving and well written.
- yay, i get to see Pinback tomorrow night! thanks, Nic.

time to get back to smiling...
i heart my friends. so much.
did lots of thinking over the past few days and after hearing from so many of my good friends, i realized that it is true that most people are good. why let one isolated incident get in the way of my life and my happiness? i surround myself with great, funny, loving people and i will continue to do so.
thanks to my friends from writing or calling, making me laugh, and making me smile. you guys rock.

ahhh, good ol' sunday
got home late last night from hockey, then couldn't fall asleep for a while. so i stayed up and watched absolutely nothing on tv for a couple of hours. why i didn't just turn it off and read, i don't know. ended up waking up late, saw that "The Fox and the Hound" was on tv, and then Jeff called so i made him switch to it on his tv and we talked/watched. as always, good to talk to you, buddy!
i finally got motivated and went up to the gym. now that i'm back home i was going to go for a walk but since the Giants are finally winning a game, i'll watch until it's over, then go for my walk. then, i'll watch the back end of the doubleheader. wooo!

saturday better than friday
okay, my friday was crappy. i didn't have as much fun at hockey as i normally do, which has nothing to do with the folks there. they are alway great and usually a great pick-me-up, but on friday i just wanted to get home. it took me a while to fall asleep and once i finally did it was quite fitful.
but yesterday (saturday) was better. i went for a walk down by the ocean and went by "dog beach" where i used to spend so much time with Ollie. i even strolled through lighthouse field and that just calmed me - took me back to a time when things in general were much more settled for me, and a time when some of my best friends weren't 450 miles away.
went to hockey at 10:45 (yes, p.m.) and had a blast. i can't say enough how much fun i have playing with this group. sure, it's great to win, but we're there to have fun and that we did. even before the game, Liz told me about some cool news about my buddy Zeus the wonder dog (a.k.a. Steve Holt). we lost 4-3 to the team full o' ringers, but taking that into consideration, we held our own quite nicely. i feel like i played better than i did on friday and i know i was feeling much more clear-headed.
