weekend update

aside from finishing 2 more books, here's what's been going on:

didn't sleep much this weekend because i was worried about job stability. i am still worried, to an extent, but things are looking better this week than they were last week.

among my non-sleeping hours, i did manage to finish two books.

caught up on sleep during saturday's daylight hours, didn't do much exciting on sunday morning. drove up to hockey straight from Monterey and played a fun game. our bench was pretty full, which was good because it was in Fremont and i was, well, tired. i think we tied.

went to ucsf with the family yesterday for my dad's 3-year post-transplant appointment. we learned that the clinical trial he was part of has been very successful thus far (knock on wood) and there are even successor trials being used now. i'm hesitant to use the "r word", remission, because it just sounds too good to be true 3 years out. but it's what he is and i couldn't be happier or more proud of him.

of course, the world can't go on with just good thing happening, and i learned today that one of my best friend's coworkers was just diagnosed with the same lymphoma. hopefully we'll be able to help her through this time with advice, support, a shoulder to lean on...anything. please keep her in your thoughts.
