I'm so sad! Okay, not really sad...depressed, weepy, in awe...last night Jared and I started going through Jayne's newborn-3mo old clothes getting stuff ready to send to my brother & SIL. (If you didn't already hear...its a GIRL!!!!! Lily Isabelle will be joining the family in June!) We both got a little teary eyed seeing how little Jayne used to be. Especially since she was in preemie clothes for a few weeks. I mean those things are TIIINNNYYYY!
Preemie pants vs. 6mo pants
We've accumulated (ie, I bought) way too many clothes when she was little. I admit I was a little over excited when we had a baby girl and bought tons of stuff. And let me just say that even today Jayne still wears some 3mo stuff and she is almost 7.5 mo old. He he...oh well, I learned my lesson not to buy way in advance b/c you never know when your little one will fit into them. So anyways we decided to go through all her stuff to see if J & S wanted any of it for Lily...we are keeping anything we have emotional attachment to b/c down the road I would love to have a memory quilt made for her.
It made me laugh at the things Jared had attachment to...I mean he's a guy right? Guys don't care about clothes whether they are his or anyone else's...but that was before he was a daddy. As a daddy he definitely has attachment to clothes and wants to keep a lot of stuff for our next baby. Even though I remind him that we could have a boy or even if we have a girl the seasons could be all wrong and she would never fit into Jayne's stuff at the right time, etc. But oh well...we kept about half and have the other half to show J & S. I have to admit...I love the fact that we can pass along stuff to Justin & Sarah and it really makes me hope we have another girl down the road so she and Jayne can share clothes =)
Jayne is amazing and continues to be a ham making funny faces and goofy little laughs...I think she does it b/c she knows it cracks me up! I'm testing out a new theory this week trying to get her to nap better. I put a dark sheet over her windows to make her room darker so she will sleep longer. So far it definitely works for her morning nap...right now she's been down for 1.5 hrs and still sleeping. It hasn't worked for her afternoon nap yet and I'm only getting 30 minutes from her. I'm slowly trying to move her am nap back by a few minutes every day b/c ideally I want her to take a longer afternoon nap. But we'll see how it goes. I hate dealing with naps!! But I still cant complain b/c she sleeps great at night still. I also think her bottom two teeth might be coming through soon...I can feel two bumps on her gums and she is chewing on her hands a lot more than usual. We'll see, I'll keep you all posted!
