10 Months Old

Its not that my baby is 10 months old...its that she is now TWO months away from being ONE!!!!! For some reason that is scary for me. I already have her first birthday planned, outfit bought/made and supplies bought. I still have to make a few of the decorations but I hate to rush so I thought I'd start early. Can't tell I'm a planner can you??!!

At 10 months old Jayne loves to crawl and pull up on everything. We've had our share of bumps and bruises as she learns to be more steady on her feet. She loves to walk pushing her little doll stroller and LOVES LOVES LOVES ripping paper. No magazine or book is safe from her these days! She also loves to chase our three cats, only one of which will actually allow Jayne to catch her. Jayne loves when dogs bark and replies with a grunt, like she's trying to imitate them. Big or small, dogs don't scare her. She also mimics us coughing and the sounds we make. If she is in another room with someone and hears me she says "Ma" or Momma" so I think she gets who I am =)

Jayne likes to eat cat food for some reason and crawls to the cat bowls first thing each morning. I've had to sweep food out of her mouth numerous times (sorry Grandma Jeanee, I know you hate this!!). Jayne still loves pat-a-cake, how big is Jayne and the "open shut them" song. She will actually open and shut her hands as we sing it. She loves water whether it be the pool or bath. Still only has two teeth and it doesn't look like anymore are even trying to come through. The Dr. said her lack of teeth now probably means that she will have numerous come in at the same time, oh joy!!! I'm really looking forward to that (imagine sarcasm here).

This age is my favorite so far. I love that she interacts with us now and points to things she wants. She points to her cup when I ask her where her water is. She points to her ball, pony, baby, kitty, bunny, blankie. Its so fun to see her learn! I'm now taking on the task of teaching her sign language. So far she knows "all done' and "more" but wont always do it when I ask. It's a work in progress =)

Easter

We headed to church on Saturday for Easter service, however we missed the memo that there were two services (500pm & 630pm) insteads of the normal 6pm service. Needless to say we arrived in the middle of the first and b/c Jayne didn't nap and I knew she'd be cranky, we didn't stay for the second one. So we got about 25 minutes of an Easter service and that was it....but it was good nontheless!

Sunday Mom & Dad took us out to McCormick & Smicks for their Sunday brunch....which was not the traditional "brunch" we were all hoping for. But of course it was still wonderful food and we enjoyed walking around outside in the beautiful weather and taking a bazillion pictures! Our table was near the bathroom hallway so we had tons of people walking by and Jayne loved it. She kept waving and saying "Hi" to everyone and was entertaining the table next to us by smiling and squealing at them. It was adorable!
