Project 365 Catch Up...Days 346-348

Image
Time Out (she and this step are getting REALLY used to each other these days!)

Image
This is her "sassy" pose! Ha!

Friends of ours had a "Cookies & Milk with Santa" party last night. It was so much fun! There were about 10-15 kiddos I think. Santa read them a couple stories and each child was able to sit with Santa and get their picture taken. It was such a wonderful experience!

Two and a Half Years old

Our sweet *big* baby girl is two and a half today. Can you believe it??? I can't.

Image
We could not love our girl more. She is so funny, sincere, polite, head-strong, loving, crafty, smart, beautiful, independent. This age is trying, don't get me wrong. We have multiple meltdown moments a day...from both Jayne and myself. She and I are a lot alike which causes stand-offs. This two-year-old-I-do-it-myself stage might just kill me. But I love that she wants to do things herself and I'm trying to stand back and let her, no matter how long it may take her!

Jayne loves school. She is thriving and we have seen a drastic expansion of her language and social skills. She comes home talking about all her little friends and the girl LOVES to sing. Her current BFF's include Calla, Kate, Leah, Sophie & Brayden. She knows her ABC's perfectly and sing it to me all the time. She loves reading. We find her multiple times a day sitting in her little pink chair reading her Bible. Melt my heart!

Image

Image
She is a creature of habit & loves structure (hmm, where did she get that from??!!) She MUST have her blanket, her bunny, her nightlight on, her fan going, three blankets over her and her sound machine on at night time or nap time. Or else!!!! Naptime is pretty much nonexistent at this point. We are working on quiet time/room time and she's pretty good for about 45 minutes before she is done. I need that time as much as she does!
Image

Jayne is a sweet big sister. Yes, she tackles Savannah, grabs her around the neck and pushes her around. But she plays with her, helps me feed her, kisses her constantly, tells her she loves her, gives her toys, etc. I am so excited to see their relationship grow over the years and I pray constantly that they will be best friends.

Potty training is still a work in progress. She will do pretty well when we remind her every 30 minutes or so to go but still wont go #2 until we put a pull-up on her for naptime. Not sure how to get around that one. But today she actually started going peepee and stopped herself and finished on the potty, so that was a very proud moment!! He he, the things we love as parents!

I am so excited to see Jayne grow over the next six months. I feel like when she turns three the *babyness* will all be gone and I'll have a true big girl so I am trying to savor every moment, every situation, every struggle...EVERYTHING. Its going by way too fast!

 Date Night...Fuji hibachi grill. Yummy!

Sisters having so much fun together. I love how they are interacting more and more together.

Image
My sweet, beautiful MOPS table (minus Caroline who just had a baby!!) Love these girls and I am so thankful and blessed to have them in my life!

Image
This sweet girl loves to crawl around with toys in her mouth. So silly!

Image
Someone didn't get the memo that this is a baby toy!

Image
A few girlfriends and I (six of us to be exact) decided to try doing a freezable meal exchange. We are hoping to do this once a month to stock our freezers. We each made seven family servings of one dish and exchanged with each other so we all walk away with seven different meals. Its a fun, great idea

Today we went to Discovery Place Kids with our friends Allison & Leah. This place was so fun. Jayne had a blast and even came home and took a two hr nap!

9 Months Old

Image
And just like that...she is nine months old already. Savannah is growing before my eyes and it pains my heart. I know I'm gonna miss this time. She could (okay, probably) be my last baby and I'm relishing every moment. I love this little girl so much it hurts. She is beautiful, smart...an amazing gift from God. Here is a little bit about our sweet baby girl.

Stats:
27.5" long
16lbs 15oz
{50% all around}...only ounces bigger than Jayne at the same age. S only gained a pound from 6 months to 9 while Jayne had gained three. So its evening out!

  • loves food...LOVES it and eats like a champ. She nurses twice a day and I pump a bottle at night for her. She also east solid foods three-four times a day. We still puree most of her food but have begun making purees chunkier. She also loves finger foods such as bread, pancakes, peas, rice, carrots, cheerios. Even though she only has one tooth, she handles finger foods very well.
  • One tooth (bottom left) but her bottom right and top two are swollen ans should be making their appearance soon.
  • She's been crawling for months know and is so fast! She is into everything and does not like to be contained these days!
  • Savannah began pulling up in her crib two days ago. She can get down herself but it still takes her a bit to do it and she gets frustrated so she'll cry. Nothing like a 5am wake up call to get your kid to sit down!! Jayne used to go stiff as a board and fall back and hit her head, Savannah luckily goes down on her bottom! Today though Savannah kept standing and then would scream until I helped her get down. Silly girl!
  • She will take a few steps holding onto our hands and tried to climb the stairs yesterday. So not ready for that phase!
  • Sav loves her sister. Jayne can be doing anything and Savannah wants to be right there and she still laughs at Jayne the most.
  • Savannah wears 9-12 month clothes although I have put her in 18 month shirts and rolled up the sleeves.
  • Still our content, sweet, happy girl...but you definitely voice your opinion now and lately have been clingy. Could be the virus and three teeth you are cutting. But I admit, I love the extra snuggles!
  • S still sleeps well. 12-13 hrs at night and a 1-2 hr am nap and 2-3 hr afternoon nap. She is pretty flexible and if we are out and about in the morning will eventually snooze in the car for a bit, but she does fine if she skips that nap. As long as she can get her afternoon nap!
