Our sweet *big* baby girl is two and a half today. Can you believe it??? I can't.
We could not love our girl more. She is so funny, sincere, polite, head-strong, loving, crafty, smart, beautiful, independent. This age is trying, don't get me wrong. We have multiple meltdown moments a day...from both Jayne and myself. She and I are a lot alike which causes stand-offs. This two-year-old-I-do-it-myself stage might just kill me. But I love that she wants to do things herself and I'm trying to stand back and let her, no matter how long it may take her!
Jayne loves school. She is thriving and we have seen a drastic expansion of her language and social skills. She comes home talking about all her little friends and the girl LOVES to sing. Her current BFF's include Calla, Kate, Leah, Sophie & Brayden. She knows her ABC's perfectly and sing it to me all the time. She loves reading. We find her multiple times a day sitting in her little pink chair reading her Bible. Melt my heart!
She is a creature of habit & loves structure (hmm, where did she get that from??!!) She MUST have her blanket, her bunny, her nightlight on, her fan going, three blankets over her and her sound machine on at night time or nap time. Or else!!!! Naptime is pretty much nonexistent at this point. We are working on quiet time/room time and she's pretty good for about 45 minutes before she is done. I need that time as much as she does!
Jayne is a sweet big sister. Yes, she tackles Savannah, grabs her around the neck and pushes her around. But she plays with her, helps me feed her, kisses her constantly, tells her she loves her, gives her toys, etc. I am so excited to see their relationship grow over the years and I pray constantly that they will be best friends.
Potty training is still a work in progress. She will do pretty well when we remind her every 30 minutes or so to go but still wont go #2 until we put a pull-up on her for naptime. Not sure how to get around that one. But today she actually started going peepee and stopped herself and finished on the potty, so that was a very proud moment!! He he, the things we love as parents!
I am so excited to see Jayne grow over the next six months. I feel like when she turns three the *babyness* will all be gone and I'll have a true big girl so I am trying to savor every moment, every situation, every struggle...EVERYTHING. Its going by way too fast!
We love you to the moon and back, baby girl! You are so special and we thank God daily for the gift he gave us in you. You are designed for big things and we cant wait to see your future continue to unfold!
