Dans le Marais (Weekend Street/Reflections # 144)

Image

Paris, France

It's been a while since I've posted a reflection, so here's a street reflection.😉
I'd probably be a nervous wreck walking a puppy without a leash in a big city.
                                              Have a great weekend!

Now you can link reflections and/or street photography.

Please no posed pictures, portraits, animals, etc. unless there is a reflection.

Le Lutetia (Weekend Street/Reflections # 65)

Image
Paris, France

I was on Rue de Picardie about to cross Rue de Bretagne in the 3rd Arrondissement when I noticed the woman in the window smoking a cigarette. From a distance, she reminded me of Miss Marple but not so much when I got closer. There aren't many things I enjoy more than wandering around with my camera at night in European cities.

Have a great weekend!

Arts et Métiers (Weekend Street/Reflections # 43)

Image
Paris, France

A sad but increasingly common scene these days.

I saw the broken coconut (noix de coco in French) near the man's feet and a French proverb came to mind, "Qui a des noix en casse, qui n'en a pas s'en passe." I don't remember where I learned it, and I'm not sure I know what it means. If you know what it means in English or French, please share in the comments.

Have a great weekend and a Happy Thanksgiving!

This is not the most enjoyable way to spend an evening but sometimes it has to be done. 😊

Some yellow flowers to brighten the day!

I think the woman on the bike wants a bouquet to go with her scarf.

Social Distance Early Adopters (Weekend Street/Reflections # 1)

Image

 Paris, France

The good old days before the mask craze. (February 2020.)

You probably wont find any reflections because I've decided to make a little change after over a decade of reflections only. Now it's Reflections and/or Street photography.  I love street photography and I have a lot of it. 😄

Trop. C'est à Peine Assez (Weekend Reflections # 577)

Image
Paris, France

I wonder if these guys realize that they have a guest at their table. A guest that seems to be wearing too much eyeshadow.  But as the reflected words say,  "Trop c'est à peine assez" = "Too much is hardly enough."

Happy Reflecting

A reflection near the metro station Arts et Métiers. I think the reflection was on an acrylic casing that covers a metro map.

Happy Father's Day!

Qui Sommes Nous ? (Weekend Reflections # 544)

Image
Paris, France

What is she looking at? Who is he looking at? Qui sommes nous ? = Who are we?
Reflections, street photography, and a little something to ponder. :-)

I had a wonderful trip and had a great lunch in Paris with Arnaud aka Kwarkito.

Happy reflecting

Encoreunestp (Weekend Reflections # 424)

Image
Paris, France

Last December I was walking on rue Vieille-du-Temple when I noticed a strange mirror on the wall. It was a dark evening but I decided to try to capture the reflection of the people sitting at La Perle across the street. I didn't know it at the time, but "encore-une-stp," which means one-more-please or another-one-please, is an insta/selfie/art installation with several mirrors in Paris. See an encoreunestp mirror, take a selfie and post it on Instagram. I love the idea, but I would change it to insta/reflection mirrors. :-)

It's fun to walk around Paris at night searching for reflections.  I'd like to thank the person who put the reflective material on the wall.  Merci !:-)

Candles in the Rain (Weekend Reflections # 175)

Image
Paris, France

Paris + night + rain + reflections + my camera,  these five things = a good time for me.

Unfortunately I only have three out of the five this weekend but I'll try to make the most of them. :-)

Have a great weekend!

La Mort Lente du Ballon Rouge (Weekend Reflections # 98)

ImageParis, France (Rue Au Maire)

I probably butchered the French language but my title is trying to say The slow death of The Red Balloon.
One of my favorite movies when I was a boy was Le Ballon Rouge or The Red Balloon as I knew it. Like in the movie it seems like a sad end is in store for this balloon. The movie was made in Paris in 1956. When I'm in Paris I try to capture glimpses of the Paris of old and sometimes the glimpses appear in reflections.
