Princeton, New Jersey
This man seemed to have a glow about him as he sat looking out the window of a Japanese restaurant. He probably didn't realize that he was surrounded by reflections.
A belated Happy Thanksgiving! I'm still on holiday. Have a great weekend!
Weekend Reflections will be on auto-pilot for a few weeks.
This is the place to see and share reflections. Click the rules tab above for more information.

Robertson Hall (Weekend Reflections # 88)
Princeton University (Robertson Hall)Princeton is great place to explore day or night and I'm going to miss going there. The university was established in 1746 and has an amazing history.
If all is going according to plan I should be in Santa Fe New Mexico taking lots of pictures when this posts.

More of Princeton
Imagine standing at the doorway to the gym in the previous post and looking up, this is some of what you would see

Looks like a nice day to walk around campus with an Umbrella

This is a picture of above an entrance to one of the churches on campus.

One of the many Princeton Tigers
Just a few things that caught my eye when I was at Princeton. The Princeton teams are called the Tigers, so tiger statues and carvings can be found all around the campus.

I think I'll take a break from this series tomorrow since it's Skywatch time. Then maybe one or two more series posts. Then I'll stock up on fall and winter pictures for another Princeton series next year.

More Faces of Princeton
This is one of the doorways to the gymnasium

This contortionist guy is above the doorway

This contortionist guy is above the doorway

This face and the the next are carved into the doorway along with several others

This is a mystery
I wonder if anyone has counted all of the faces and animals that are carved into Princeton. For example the doorway to the gymnasium in the top picture has twenty faces on it and more above it. Maybe if I ever get really bored,........ never mind.
The bottom picture is a mystery to me. It was on a wall next to the entrance of Princeton's library. If you know what it is please do tell.
I'm pretty sure that it's not a fancy waffle iron. :)

A Pint or a Prayer at Princeton

I'm sure students at Princeton feel a lot of pressure, just look at the guy in the middle photo who is getting his head squeezed by the sculpture. I took the the bottom two photos on the campus and the top one is a pub across the street.
Thank you to Vogon Poet for translating the Latin.

Princeton Revisited

I'm featuring buildings made of bricks at my Something Sighted blog and I plan on featuring Princeton University in most of my posts here this week.Princeton is such a historic and wonderful place to see. Many of the buildings are decorated with beautiful stone carvings. I hope you enjoy the series.

More Princeton

Here are some more pictures from my Princeton University visit. The other Princeton posts can be seen here and here. I was racing the parking meter so I don't have as many details as I would like.In the top photo the tour guide is telling his guests about the Harvey S. Firestone Memorial Library building.
The second photo shows chalk messages on steps written by students.
The building in the bottom picture looks old and very interesting, but I don't know anything about it.
I think I'll go back and take more pictures in the fall.

Beauty and Higher Learning
Yesterday I mentioned that I visited Princeton University. I've heard about the beauty and history of Ivy League schools, but this was the first time that I was able to see one for myself.I was very impressed by all of the wonderful old buildings and the well kept grounds. I want to return and see much more, including a museum. I'm glad that Princeton is only a half-hour drive from my house.
Princeton was founded in 1746 and has been at this site since 1756. It amazes me to think that the school I was walking around is older than the United States of America. The list of famous alumni and professors is very impressive but not surprising considering the school's long history of academic and sporting achievements.
Stay tuned for more pictures.
