Two Headed Dog? (Weekend Reflections 116)

Image
Newport Beach, California  ( I just got back from Europe so I probably wont be blogging very much this weekend but I hope to start posting some photos from my trip at  my other blog.)  I'm also looking forward to catching up on the reflections that I missed.

While I was at a stoplight I saw this cute dog and it's reflection reflected in my side view. I thought it would be perfect for Weekend Reflections. Fortunately my camera was right next to me.
If needed, please click the link near the top right corner for Weekend Reflections instructions. Now, lets have some fun with Weekend Reflections!

Mr. Fluffbottom's Neighborhood

Image
Image
Image I saw these sheep last week while I was walking around in the same area where I took the last Weekend Reflections picture and the picture of the white and red mill with the squares and rectangles. My first thought was of my blogger friend Sunny at (Barnyards and Barnacles). Then I noticed that all but one of them were ignoring me. So I asked the one that was looking my way to smile for the camera. It looks like Mr Fluffbottom has a sense of humor because he stuck out his tongue instead. I also took a picture of the sheep's house. On top of the tree covered hill to the right of the barn is a structure called Bowman's Tower.
Sunny posts so many wonderful photos of barns and barnyard animals plus all sorts of other interesting things . She's also an excellent poet. In a recent post she said that the black and white photo project at my Something Sighted blog has inspired her to start posting more black and white photos. I look forward to seeing them.

Image If you look at the street behind the horse you should get a better understanding of my title. :)
I took this shot in a place called "Bird in Hand" Pennsylvania.

An Amish Muscle Car

Image I couldn't tell if this boy was working or having fun. Maybe both. Vicki and I went to Amish Country for the first time last Saturday and I fell in love with the area. So I went back today and did several "drive by shootings" like this one.
Since the sky is so beautifully blue and one one the clouds reminds me of a heavenly arrow pointing the way for the boy and his dog, I've decided to submit this to Skywatch Friday. Just click the link and see amazing skies from all over the world.

Amigos Watching the Sunset

Image
Image I was going to title this post 3 Amigos watching the sunset then I looked closely at the top photo and saw the fourth little head popping up between two of the birds.

These were taken at Laguna beach in California.

Hummingbird at Inspiration Point

I was walking up a hill to a place called Inspiration point and I saw a couple on a bench enjoying the ocean view. They were able to escape my lens because this guy caught my eye. Image

He was very tiny and he gladly posed for a couple of shots.

Then he decided to fly away. To be honest I was amazed that he was able to lift his chubby little body with those short wings.Image These were taken in Corona Del Mar California. I think it's interesting that he has red on the side of his neck in the bottom photo but not in the top.

Bucks County style BBQ. I felt a little uncomfortable about this scene after meeting my friends in the pictures above

Mr. Ed and a Newtown Cowboy

Image Image I took these pictures last month during Newtowns Market Day, which is like a fair without the rides. It had people in 18th century costumes playing music and doing and selling crafts. There was lots of fair type food too. This guy was giving rides on his wagon.

William Penn and his Pigeons

ImageFriday I spent the day in Philadelphia and Saturday I spent the day in Manhattan mostly in the Metropolitan Museum of Art. This picture was taken Friday in Philadelphia's Penn Treaty park. This is the top part of a statue of William Penn the founder of Pennsylvania.
I'm still going through a black & white phase so Voila.
Now I would like to give some information about the sculpture in the middle picture of my previous post.
It's called "Social Consciousness" and it was created in 1954 by Jacob Epstein . It's located near the back door of the Philadelphia Museum of Art.
His works can also be found in England, France and other places.

Clock Tower and Canadian Geese

Image
Image

Image I think Canadian geese look pretty good in black & white. I took these pictures on the side of an old industrial building in Bristol Pennsylvania. Notice the Crazy man on top of the Clock tower. (Canadian,Clock and Crazy)

Graveyard Sentinels

Image
Image
Image Image Last month when I went to St. Mary's church in Burlington New Jersey I had a strange feeling that I was being watched. Maybe it was just the crow that kept trying to blend into the church or the squirrels that lept from one headstone to another. Even the iron gate watched me leave. :-)
I can't wait to go back and see what the old and the "new" St. Mary's churches look like inside.

Swan Songs at the Bucks County Playhouse

Image Image ImageI wonder how many swan songs took place here both inside and out over the past seventy years?
While on a little bridge taking pictures of the playhouse I saw three swans or white geese pretending to be swans swimming, then suddenly they turned and like magic there were four.
If you look really closely at the second picture you can see the baby's tail and little yellow foot.
"The Bucks County Playhouse, The State Theater of Pennsylvania, located in New Hope, Bucks County, Pennsylvania is a national landmark for Broadway Plays and is rich in theatrical history. “Springtime for Henry” with Edward Everett Horton opened the Playhouse season in 1939 and the celebrities that followed are a who's who of the theater. Princess Grace Kelly, Bea Arthur, Jack Cassidy, Colleen Dewhurst, Bob Fosse, Merv Griffin, Gene Rayburn, William Shatner, Paul Lynde, George C. Scott, Liza Minnelli, Audra McDonald, Loretta Swit, Don Knotts, Andrea McArdle and John Travolta are just a few of the luminaries that have graced the Playhouse stage in our incredible list of Broadway productions."
The Delaware river and the Pennsylvania, New Jersey border is on the other side of the playhouse.

Bristol Goose Invasion

Image Image Image
Image There is an old industrial area in Bristol with a pond and a grassy area between an old building and the rail station. The pond and grassy area is home to an army of geese and some turtles. There were also some furry little critters that swam around and seemed to be building burrows. What surprised me was the loud hiss the goose made when the furry creature(anyone know what they are?) got close.
The goose sounded just like a cat and the bottom picture is the actual moment that it happened. Enlarge the photos to see if you can tell what the furry critters are.
Click Camera Critters if you want to see other critters from other blogs. I know I do!
