24 Weeks

BABY: At 24 weeks the baby is about 8 1/2 inches long. He is starting to fill out and his face/body are looking more like an infant. Now he looks very much like how he will at birth, only smaller. Last week the baby was able to start opening his eyes and all his organs are fully functioning except the lungs.

We had a busy weekend! Dinner with the Potters on Friday, Thanksgiving test run at the Howards with book club friends on Saturday, day in the park on Sunday, and lots of yard work. Bogey was excited to see her boyfriends at the park, she loves to give them kisses.

Work Baby Shower

Image My thoughtful BMS team threw me a surprise shower at the meeting last week. It was so cute - they had me wear a "mom to be" sash, a big baby shower sign, rubber duckies, confetti, streamers, and the best cupcakes I have ever had.

Mels Shower

We hosted a shower for Mels this weekend. It was so fun to spend the entire weekend in Seattle with some of my close college friends.

22 Weeks

Matt went golfing today and shot his lowest score for the second time - 64. He had a putt that was less than an inch away from matching the course record set over 30 years ago. He had ten birdies despite the rainy and windy conditions.

BABY: At 22 weeks the baby is 7 2/3 inches long and my uterus is about 3/4 inch above my bellybutton. The baby continues to get larger every day, his eyelids/eyebrows are developed, and his fingernails are also visible. The baby's organ systems are becoming specialized for their particular functions. This week was the first time that someone who did not know I was pregnant asked about the baby. It is now very obvious that I am pregnant. I am feeling him moving at many times throughout the day this week. Both of us love being able to feel him move around in my belly!
