Mimi & Papa Visit
My parents came to watch the kids so that we could have an adult night out with friends. The kids had a wonderful time as always!!!! Activities consisted of making a sign and insisting mimi & papa run all around the house, tunnel fun, bubbles, outside play, baking cookies, play dough, and even picking up the dog poop together. THANK YOU mimi & papa!
Mom health update: She has completed week 2 of radiation and is doing great! No side effects and enough energy to chase Brody around all weekend.
Matt's First Hole in ONE
Matt got his first hole in one on cinco de mayo (5/5/12)!!!! I am SO proud of him :) Matt has been a scratch golfer for almost 15 years and has been waiting for this lucky day.
Above is the picture of the hole. Apparently it is the most difficult one on the course and the pin placement was very tricky.
The other neat part is that this was the exact course, the exact hole that his dad got his first hole in one as well. Bob was the same age that Matt is now. Both of them golf at a ridiculous amount of courses so it makes his first ace even more special.

Quoting Brody
Brody says the funniest things! I really need to start writing them down bc we forget so quickly.
Brody told me in a very serious tone "I love tits".... it took us a while to figure out what he was trying to say but the translation was "I love tents". Thank god - I am not ready for the first one!
For the most part he is easy to understand but he still says things like that every once in a while. The other sound he has a hard time with is "th". If you ask him to say thunder it sounds like funder.

Brody 3 Year Well Child Check
Brody got an A+ at his 3 year well child check! She said that he was one smart kiddo... which of course we already thought so but nice to hear from a physician. Brody absolutely LOVES Dr. Speaker. She is so good with him. A few fun things from his appointment:
-The doctor asked him to say his name and he said "Brody". She asked if he had another name and he said "bubba" she laughed and then he said "Brody Matthew" I prompted him with the lingo we use which is his full name and of course he belted out "BRODY MATTHEW NEWCOMBE"
-She asked if he was a boy or a girl and he said "I am a boy silly"
-The doctor said she was going to draw an "o" and wanted him to copy what she did. Before she had a chance to grab the pen he already wrote the "o"
-The nurse was checking his vision on the eye chart utilizing shapes. When he finished with 20/20 on that - he started reading off all the letters from the adult eye chart next to it without her asking (our little show off). She was very impressed he knew all his letters and could read every line.
-Brody made up an imaginary owie on his foot that the doctor needed to examine. She was so fun about playing along. She did several tests and then he told her she needed to look at it with her flashlight (the ear one). When she was finished with his thorough exam he told her all it needed was a kiss.
