Our poor baby got hit in the face with a baseball bat at practice! Thank God he was wearing a helmet when it happened and one of the dads at the field house was a paramedic... he came out of it with no concussion and no broken bones. Brody did get 3 stitches, glue and a big swollen black eye. When we got to the ER the waiting list was 24 people deep... thankfully he got right into peds and had a large and excellent care team. Brody was such a trooper and tough boy the entire time! We ended our late and traumatic evening with milkshakes. Very thankful our sweet boy is doing well. Sweet recovery card from Eva McGeachy!
The boys and I lucked out on our flight home! One of the pilots invited us into the cockpit as we were getting onto the plane. He gave us a tour and explained the steering, buttons, maps, etc. He let the boys play around with the equipment as well. We hung out with the pilots during the entire boarding process. It was such a cool experience! Both boys talked about how they wanted to be a pilot the entire ride home.
Palm Springs sun with some of our favorites! Amy and I were able to get in a run every day we were there together. One day they came over to play at one of the pools at Grandma & Grandpa's house. The other day we spent at the Westin pool where the Arellano's were staying. These kiddos have grown up together since birth and all have such a great time together.
The last few days of spring break I came down to Palm Springs to pick up the boys and soak up a few days of sunshine with family & friends. Gracie watched over Matt while we were gone.
Fun times and wonderful memories made with Grandma & Grandpa. Pool 2 times a day in the morning/evening, golf, bubbles, baseball, and shopping. The Easter bunny even found them in Palm Springs :) They were very thankful he even hid eggs. They met some kids at the pool who did not get a visit from the bunny bc he could not find them. Thank you again Bob and Noreen for taking such good care of our babies!
Matt had an anterior fusion back surgery done on March 30, 2018. They go in from the front which allows for a better recovery and less hardware needed. The surgery went extremely smooth - they were expecting it to take 3 hours and it only took 1.5 hours. Matt is doing well with recovery, was off pain meds after 4 days and is moving around. He is still sore and unable to lift anything heavier than 10 pounds; full recovery is supposed to take about 3 months. Gracie has been watching over our patient and giving him extra snuggles!!! This is the exact same back surgery as Tiger Woods... we are hoping this will fix all of Matt's back problems and that he will be back with a stronger golf swing as well.
