Landmarks refer to natural, non-interactive props, objects, or places of interest found throughout each game world. Non-destructive and non-invasive human interferences are considered natural landmarks only where they are made with native resources.
In WolfQuest: Anniversary Edition, one of the main perks of the expanded game maps is that they offer vastly more exploration and sightseeing opportunities than their classic-legacy counterparts, whether by visiting labels on the world map or by trekking about in the otherwise seemingly-unremarkable terrain in most areas of the wilderness within the vast in-game world; if a map has a predecessor, landmarks within the old constraints may still be found, though most will have been updated to match the world as was during the time it was being developed. "The Burn" is an excellent visual example of changes when compared between the original maps and their modern counterparts.
If the player has created and signed-in to a WolfQuest game account, some landmarks will award one or multiple achievements the first time they are visited, sometimes only within certain conditions. Landmarks placed within the game's boundaries can be freely visited in single-player and multiplayer. Those placed out-0f-bounds are either inaccessible to the player-wolf or accessible with some bypass work required.

- While the wolf skull that first appeared in Classic did return to the Anniversary Edition, it being re-implemented long before the re-introduction of achievements meant it was not an achievement nor did it receive achievement status after the system itself was added.
