Vehicles are an uncommon encounter in WolfQuest's natural wilderness.
In WolfQuest: Anniversary Edition, there are a mix of vehicles in-game. In any Yellowstone National Park location, the player-wolf may on rare occasions encounter operational vehicles both on land and they may observe them overhead in the sky. In Lost River, a plethora of abandoned vehicles and inoperable wreckages are scattered across its vast world map. The player-wolf may encounter functioning and non-functioning vehicles at any time, but they cannot interact with the majority of these instances except for a very small number of exceptions.
In WolfQuest: Classic, there is only one operational vehicle encountered in the natural wilderness of Yellowstone National Park, and a plethora of abandoned and inoperable vehicles left to rust and decay scattered throughout the Lost River game map. The player-wolf can do very little with these besides clambering up onto them.

Aircraft[]
This section covers vehicles that are capable of flight, whether long-term or short-term.
Cessna[]
- Main article: Airplane#Anniversary Edition
In the Anniversary Edition as of 1.1.0. a light yellow Cessna aircraft has been implemented. This vehicle is used by biologists to study wildlife inhabiting their respective ecosystem thus it will randomly spawn in to hone-in on, follow and track radio collared wolves to study them and/or survey their pack for a short while before moving on.
This will only spawn while playing in game maps set in Yellowstone National Park. When playing in either of the two Lost River game maps, it will not spawn, suggesting Lost River is either a strict no-flying zone or lost to time and memory.
- Main article: Airplane#Classic
In Classic, the only aircraft vehicle is a red-and-white Cessna used by wolf biologists to track and study collared wolves. It emits a distinctive engine sound when it spawns and flies along a linear path.
This will only spawn while playing in game maps set in Yellowstone National Park. When playing in the Lost River game map, it will not spawn, suggesting Lost River is either a strict no-flying zone or lost to time and memory.

This section covers vehicles that are strictly grounded or land-based and cannot traverse water.
Amethyst Mountain[]
In the Anniversary Edition, there is a road beyond the north-eastern Lamar boundary, though this is not implemented in-game and is (or once was and has since been removed following revisions to borders) referenced in a turnback condition when attempting to cross the barrier on the northern side of the Lamar River. The barrier itself is thin and can somewhat easily be bypassed by jumping at the right time before crossing it. Players exploring the land beyond — unofficially dubbed Sunset Slopes by players — would never see any road and no humans, as they were never intended to be accessed.
This exception aside, Amethyst Mountain is complete and total wilderness set amidst sloping mountains. There are no roads cutting through any accessible part of the game map, so the player-wolf will be unable to encounter any land-based vehicles. In Classic, Amethyst Mountain is complete and total wilderness set amidst sloping mountains. There are no roads running anywhere along this map, so the player-wolf will never encounter any land-based vehicles in this game map.
In Legacy versions, Amethyst Mountain is complete and total wilderness set amidst sloping mountains. There are no roads running anywhere along this map, so the player will never encounter any land-based vehicles in this game map.
Slough Creek[]
In the Anniversary Edition, there is a long dirt road running from south to east along the lower portion of the world map which in real life is used by a horse-drawn cart throughout summer.[citation needed] In-game, it goes unused for its real-life purpose and serves simply as a way for player-wolves to travel if they wish to use it as such. Following this road allows the player to more easily find achievement landmarks and certain collectibles placed on or along it.
This exception aside, Slough Creek is complete and total wilderness set amidst vast meadows and sloping hills. There are no roads cutting through any other accessible part of the game map, so the player-wolf will be unable to encounter any land-based vehicles. In Classic, Slough Creek is complete and total wilderness set amidst vast meadows and sloping hills. Tower Fall[]

In the Anniversary Edition, a long road winds its way along the game map, cutting through the terrain. The only vehicles the player can expect to see on occasion are long yellow sightseeing buses through spring, summer, and fall, and ranger trucks, of which the former will deceptively emit
dangerous human scent spores. Both hazards pose no true danger to the player-wolf or their packmates; drivers will slow down when a player-wolf is near their vehicle and it stop completely when a player-wolf stops and remains stationary in front of their vehicle. For NPC encounters their behavior differs, but no harm will befall either party even if a collision does appear to occur.[1]

The wreckage of one aircraft in the expanded Lost River serves as a dirt or burrow den site which can be used by wolves to raise their young offspring. Its body lacks a painted finish, suggesting either a) it has been there for a very long time, or b) it was in some way experimental and unfinished; in the latter case, either it was constructed where it stands, or it may have been on a test flight prior to it coming down to land where it now rests and was left to rot.
The second aircraft vehicle is a cargo plane. This one appears to have broken into pieces; the body or cargo hold can be found in the mountains. Its missing door can be found further south-west and serves as the centrepiece to rendezvous site 15. The pilot cabin and tail are completely missing.
For both wreckages, it is unknown if their pilot(s), crew, and/or passengers survived.

In the expanded Lost River game map, there is a much wider variety of ground vehicles all in varying states of condition and decay, ranging from cars and trucks, which are the most common vehicles to see and pass by on- and off-road; a van in the Hinterlands among few others; a large transport truck parked in such a way that it is blocking the exit tunnel at the end of the road along The Unspoken; two snowmobiles, one of which (blue) can be found in a garage in Allison Acres, and the other (green) sitting abandoned and overturned near Blades Peak; RVs in Allison Acres and bicycles. The entire assortment of road vehicles are scattered throughout the map. The majority are insubstantial while a very small handful of them are tied to achievements.
Abandoned construction vehicles are less abundant and can only be seen at the end of Hank's Ditch and towards the start of the road leading into Grant's Glen.
A heavily rusted, abandoned old pickup truck serves as a dirt or burrow den site which can be used by wolves to raise their young offspring.

While there are no water-based vehicles, boats, kayaks, or similar in the expanded Lost River, there is graffiti in Allison Acres mentioning someone taking a boat during an evacuation event. Besides this exception, no boats have been found and none are known to have been left behind. (None have been found.)
