Trivia[]

  • In Yellowstone, due to the abundant populations of elk, wolves don't eat predator or competitors' carcasses. In short, predator meat is not equal to prey meat.

Anniversary Edition Trivia

  • Traces of black bears can be found within the game files. (Their scent view footprints/tracks were discovered.)

Classic Trivia

  • The predator wolf variation is counted since it does pose a risk to pups during the second episode.
  • The domestic cat is neither a competitor nor a true predator, in that it doesn't harm the player and is not observed to hunt or scavenge. It behaves exactly like a perched cougar.

Classic and Legacy Trivia

  • This list excludes stranger wolves. This is because they're restricted to zones, and they aren't a direct threat to the player. They can be ignored without risk or consequence.

Legacy Trivia

  • Ravens, being 2D sprites, don't do much more than glide above food sources. The player cannot interact with them at all.
