Planet Parade - Featuring Ziggy

Join Ziggy the Astronaut as he goes on a Planet Parade around the city of Leicester . The Planet Parade turns Leicester into a walkable solar system with planets at various locations created by around 250 schoolchildren and artists. Each planet is represented by bold artworks installed at various Leicester locations from the Highcross and Haymarket shopping centres to the Cathedral , Jewry Wall Museum , and Leicester Museum on New Walk . We first join Ziggy as he enters the Highcross, where he finds Mercury represented, and so begins his mission across space and Leicester to find all the planets. His mission was filmed over several months between 30th March and 31st May and took in many of Leicester’s known locations and landmarks. After floating around the city, Ziggy finds his zig-zaggy way to the centre of the Solar System , finding the Sun at the base of the iconic rocket tower at the National Space Centre .

St Georges Tower Street Art Project

In July 2022, Leicester's St. George’s Tower, affectionately known as the Blue Tower, underwent a monumental transformation, becoming home to Europe's tallest street art. Crafted by a team of local artists, Wing Lo, Richard Peacock, Leigh Drummond, with assistance from Ben Edwards & Kiene Tuckley – the mural stands an impressive 82 meters tall, covering a whopping 717.5 square meters. This masterpiece nearly doubles the UK's previous record and ranks among the world's tallest murals, only surpassed by artworks in Calgary, Canada, and Karachi, Pakistan. Adorning the tower are Leicester's beloved symbols, including a fox, tiger, astronaut, and DNA helix, offering a breathtaking sight visible from various points across the city.

Desford Scarecrow Festival 2022 - The Reigning Years

The annual Desford Scarecrow Festival returned over the August Bank Holiday with a theme of "The Reigning Years" a celebration of events that have occured during HRH Queen Elizabeth II`s reign. The theme "The Reigning Years" offered the creative residents and businesses of Desford a wide variety of options upon which to base their creations, many chose the Royals as a theme with a number of interpretations of the Queens famous parachute entry into the 2012 Olympics alongside Daniel Craig's James Bond. There where some fun interpretations of her majesty's faithful canine friends too with a highlight being a Corgi street party in Manor Gardens (renamed Royal Gardens for the occasion and detailing the lives of the royal family though the decades. The beatles arrived in a classic green car and we took a trip to the club tropicana. There was a Newsflash when the BBC (which celebrates its 100 year centenary in 2022) inspired one creator who turned their front gard...

The Urban Astronaut - Leicester City Festival

The Urban Astronaut landed in Leicester City Center as part of the city festival 2017. The dramatic performance explores the environmental issue of air pollution, one of the most serious problems affecting the environment today. The astronaut performs spins and jumps suspended up to 20ft in the air giving the appearance of weightlessness. A traveler from a future version of earth, which has been destroyed and made inhospitable through air pollution he has returned to the past to find an answer to a future crisis. My film joins the astronaut as he travels through the City center passing the clock tower (a well known Leicester landmark) before arriving on Humberstone gate where he may find an answer to his crisis.
