Sunflowers At Sunset - Norton Juxta Blooms

I took a visit to Norton Juxta Blooms directly opposite @TwycrossZoo in Leicestershire to see their spectacular Sunflower field, we made the visit at Sunset so as the sun slid below the horizon the field started to glow deep yellow and oranges. We also had an unexpected flypast by some Para motors which took off from an adjacent field flying low over the Sunflowers adding to the special atmosphere. In this film i explore the field finding a bright blue tractor contrasting against the Yellow flowers and exploring the maze of paths throughout, as the sun sinks lower the Sunflowers seem to be soaking up the last few rays and bow their heads till sunrise tomorrow. please see the Norton Juxta Blooms website for opening times and a special thanks to the team there for allowing us to film after hours.

HELIOS - By Luke Jerram

I got “sent to Coventry”, home of Coventry Market all kinds of everything something for everyone etc.  but as much as I’m sure the lady who sells rugs is very nice I’m not here for that lol. I visited the  @nationaltrustcharity  Charterhouse in Coventry to see artist  @lukejerram7742  's Helios installation on display in the properties beautiful landscaped gardens. We begin our look at the work with a wide shot showing bees collecting pollen and visitors young and old enjoying the gardens, further along the garden path and two visitors are challenging themselves to complete a maze made from bricks in the lawns. Getting closer now we see the Charterhouse itself with it`s mishmash of styles people are picnicking and enjoying the good weather with Helios looming behind. Now up close to the art work we find a glass model of the earth made in scale to the sun, giving a true perspective of the size of the sun itself. Looming high above the fiery giant really is th...

Swans At Croft Quarry Nature Trail

Between Huncote and Croft, alongside the quarry is a nature trail full of wildlife and fantastic views over the surrounding countryside and villages. My short film features a couple of swans as they hunt for food in the small lake in the middle of the trail bathed in the orange glow of the low winter morning sunshine. Images Follow

Jinty

Jinty, Is a short about Jinty 47406 a small steam engine who is seen here steaming along the Great Central Railway near Quorn at sunset on 19-02-2012. The Sunlight shone through the coach windows as she passed by on an elevated part of the track making for a scene that reminds me of the (old) opening titles to Thomas the tank engine !.

Menphys Open Gardens 2011

Poster design for Menphys Open Gardens 2011, Designed to promote an open garden event hosted by Her Grace, The Dowager Duchess of Rutland for the Leicester based charity menphys at Belvoir Lodge. The design incorporates the event information into the middle of a pair of ornate iron garden gates which have been opened to invite the viewer into both the poster & the garden. The typeface is of a bold style reminiscent of classic movie posters and is fully contained within the rectangular shape of the gate opening making for a design where the text becomes the most prominent feature of the piece. The poster also continues the theme of Ladybirds and Birds as featured on the previous poster for the oadby and wigston charity show, How many can you spot ? Bit Dark Over Bills Mothers !

Just walking home and spotted this spectacular cloudscape above me. Sometimes breaking the rules of photography (don't point your camera directly at the sun) can result in some amazingly dramatic images !.
