Cosby Yarnbomb 2024 - Fun & Games, Mischief & Mayhem.

A look at Cosby Yarnbomb 2024 with it`s theme of Fun & Games, Mischief & Mayhem. My film of the Cosby Yarnbomb 2024 comes in three distinct sections. Starting with sports, including the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, but first off to the Tour De France where a Knitted life sized rider has the yellow jersey, next we see Team GB diver Tom Daley represented in knitted form and asking "How Are You ?". There are flags strung all around the village giving a French feel to this Leicestershire village, we see the Eiffel tower, a swimming competition and no games would be complete without the flame burning away. Next we move onto Computer games with Kirby, Sonic and Minecraft characters all in knitted form. Pikachu and friends sit under a tree and the plants and Zombies are about to start another Vs match. Back to the Nook and it's all the fun of the fairground with Clowns, wacky mirrors and even a chance to have your fortune read by the resident fortune teller. The galloping...

My short film shows only a small section of the whole course which started and finished on the mall in the centre of London, The cyclists completing 9 laps of the Box Hill course as part of the bigger race. Keep a look out for Richard Long's art work 'The Road River' painted onto the road beneath the cyclists.

Opening Ceremony Fireworks - London

My view of the spectacular fireworks that signalled the start of the London 2012 Olympic Games. Filmed from just outside the Olympic park the stadium is dwarfed by Anish Kapoor`s Orbit tower. During the final moments of slumdog millionaire director Danny Boyle`s 'Isles of Wonder' Opening ceremony the tower signalled the start of the games with a ring of fireworks from its roof this was closely followed by a spectacular display from the atop of the stadium itself which answered with a show of colour, movement and a barrage of loud bangs and noise as it illuminated the East London sky.

Filmed at various points along the banks of the River Thames in London, this short film explores peoples patterns of movement and their interactions with the structures around them Featuring a number of well known landmarks such as the Millennium Bridge, St Pauls Cathedral and Tower Bridge (complete with Olympic rings), The piece attempts to capture a portrait of the area during one day (30.06.2012) as the capital prepares to host the Olympic games in 2012. Keep a look out for art works Hymn by Damien Hurst and Kurt Perschke's Red Ball Project.

The Olympic Flame Torch Relay visits the Summit of Mt Snowdon

On 29th May 2012 the Olympic Torch Relay reached its highest point visiting the summit of Mt Snowdon in Wales. The Torch was carried to the summit aboard a Snowdon Mountain Railway steam engine with the Everest mountaineer Sir Chris Bonington who then carried the flame the final few meters to the summit of the mountain cheered by an enthusiastic crowd of supporters waving welsh and union jack flags. The Steam engine and its precious cargo then travelled back down the mountain to continue its journey to London for the 2012 Olympic Games.

London Fireworks 2012 New Years Eve - From Hyde Park

Happy New Year !, In My First post of 2012 I offer you an alternative view of the New Years Eve London Firework display from the banks of the Serpentine in Hyde Park London from December 2011 - January 1st 2012, marking the start of 2012 and the year London hosts the Olympic Games. We left for London at 9pm on 31st December and wouldn't be back till 2012 !. After driving around central London scouting potential locations we settled on Hyde Park and the banks of of the serpentine giving a unique perspective on the nights proceedings. As 12 o'clock approached and the last few minutes of 2011 became history the low level cloud was illuminated by a light show emanating from the London eye, we watched the seconds count down, then on the stroke of midnight and with a roar of approval from the now crowded serpentine bridge, the sky erupted in a display of colours with nods toward the Olympic rings and accompanied by a sound track of oooos and ahhhs !. The display lasted for 11 minute...
