Cosby Christmas Yarnbomb 2024

After Halloween, Remembrance and main Summer Yarnbombs, in 2024 The Cosby Yarnbombers are back for the festive season with a Christmas themed display. How do they do it ?, The amazing Cosby Yarnbombers have decorated the centre of Cosby once again with festive creations of all types, we start at a traditional nativity scene before moving through the nook to an amazing postbox topper featuring a chimney and a certain man in reds boots sticking out, around the edge of the postbox are stockings filled with gifts. Moving on we find three patchwork Christmas trees of differing sizes and various decorations hung from the trees around them giving movement to the scene as they swing in the breeze. crossing the road we are first greeted by the resident Ducks before we see the showstopper life sized Santa`s Sleigh and Reindeer lead by Rudolph himself. The tree above them is filled with knitted stars.

King Charles III Postbox Topper SKB, Syston

The Syston Knitting Banksy (SKB) returns with another spectacular creation. The elusive Syston Knitting Banksy or SKB regularly creates knitted artworks related to current events and to mark special occasions. With King Charles III upcoming coronation the artist has depicted the new king on his throne with Crown, Orb and Sceptre atop a postbox in the village of Syston in Leicestershire. Full of accurate details the piece features recreations of the St Edward's Crown used in the Coronation service itself, the Golden cloak which represents the Robe Royal and featuring the national emblems of the UK. The chair is a wooly duplicate of the coronation chair commissioned by Edward 1st in 1296, it also features a gray area representing the "Stone Of Scone" used for centuries in the coronation of scottish monarchs.

Platinum Jubilee Yarnbomb Cosby

As the country celebrated the Queens Platinum Jubilee many villages marked it with a Yarnbomb created by the community, Cosby was no exception with a life sized knitted version of the Queen herself complete with Corgi dogs on a walk. Over on the nook a post box topper featured representations of the gold state carriage a guard and a very cute corgi, the Yarnbomb was created by the Cosby Crafters.

Leicester City FA Cup Final 2021 Postbox topper

In 2021 Leicester City Football Club reached the FA Cup Final for the first time since 1969 (the first cup final in my lifetime !) around the city and county people decorated shops, houses and more in celebration. In Syston a knitter known simply as SKB has gained a reputation for marking various events through the year by creating "toppers" for the postbox beside the post office on the high street. The historic nature of LCFC`s cup final has been marked by SKB with the appearance of a knitted interpretation of the clubs mascot Filbert Fox atop the post box.
