The Victory Show 2022

The annual wartime era reenactment event The Victory Show took place at Foxlands Farm in Cosby over the 2nd, 3rd and 4th of September. Featuring hundreds of reenactor and living history groups the event is one of the largest of its kind in the UK. The Victory Show features a woodland skirmish and battlefield recreation with troops, vehicles and loud explosions giving crowds a feel for warfare during this era. My film takes a look at the event and displays both in the woods and in the camp before moving to the airfield to see various planes on display. We end with a Hawker Hurricane waiting to take off and head back to its home base.

The Victory show 2019

The Annual Victory Show 1940`s re-enactment event returned to Foxlands farm in september 2019 larger and better than ever before. Living history displays where complimented by parachute drops and a variety of aircraft taking to the skies, The ever popular large showpiece land battle also took place with a simulated battle in the woods also added to the re-enactments at the show. The event is now one of the countries biggest of its type and attracts re-enactment groups from around the country. My film starts off with a look at everyday wartime life before the RAF are scrambled and the action intensifies. once the battle is won we return to the woods where the accordionist plays an uplifting tune.

There But Not There, Leicester Cathedral

The visually striking There But Not There is the 2018 Armistice project for the charity Remembered. Each clear silhouette represents local fallen wherever they are listed. The project aims to place a representative figure for every name on local war memorials around the country, into their place of worship, their school, their workplace or wherever their absence was keenly felt, back in the communities they left behind. The project aims to Commemorate, Educate and Heal the three aims of the remembered charity. My film features the project installed in Leicester cathedral and commemorates and remembers those who fell in the city and county of Leicester and Leicestershire, we start outside the cathedral before entering St George's Chapel inside the cathedral. The chapel, enclosed by a carved wooden screen, was reconstructed in 1921 and contains memorials to the men of the Royal Leicestershire Regiment, regimental colors are displayed along one side of the chapel. This video features the 'Tents & Tanks' that make up the military camp area of the show. I have given the video an epic feel reminiscent of the Hollywood movie style of the time seen in classic films such as Casablanca and Brief Encounter
