Notes:
For PCB fabrication, we require PCB design file in Gerber RS-274X format (most preferred), *.PCB/DDB (Protel, inform your program version) format or *.BRD (Eagle) format. For PCB assembly, we require PCB design file in above mentioned format, drilling file and BOM. Click to download BOM template To avoid file missing, please include all files into one folder and compress it into .zip or .rar format.

IC Programming Services: From Released Firmware to Traceable Assemblies

Plan IC programming before assembly, on the populated board or within final test. Prepare a controlled firmware release, verification requirements and a clear enquiry for prototype or production quantities.

At a glance: IC programming writes approved data or configuration into a supported device. Programming verification, successful boot and functional acceptance are separate checks that need a defined scope.

Plan the work before releasing the files

Choose the programming route around the product

Off-board programming may use a socket before placement, while in-system programming uses access on the assembled board. Compare the exact device support, package handling, available connector or test pads, and the point at which firmware becomes stable.

An early programming step can simplify later access but creates programmed inventory that must match the current revision. A later step can support product variants, while needing fixture access and a controlled board power state. Request route review rather than assuming one method is always cheaper.

Release the image as controlled manufacturing data

Identify device part number, image version, file format, address map and the intended configuration settings. Provide a reproducible procedure with the required tool version and an approved reference result. Record how a change supersedes previous production data.

If individual serial data or protected settings are required, define ownership and the approved provisioning process before production. Do not put private signing keys into a general enquiry. A request for programming is not evidence that every security-provisioning method is available.

Define what must be verified

Specify the supported programming verification method and what should happen after a failure. Separately define power-cycle or boot checks and any application-level functional test; loading a file successfully does not prove the complete board works.

Agree the required record fields, such as PCB assembly identity, image revision, job result and exception disposition. State whether first articles require customer approval before the remaining quantity is released, and identify the person who can approve that release.

Make time and quote assumptions visible

Use the workbench to model setup, parallel sites, programming, verification and handling with your own timings. The result includes a partially filled final cycle but excludes queues, failures and transport. It is not a promised manufacturing lead time.

Request a quotation separating fixture or socket work, job preparation, unit processing, serialization and functional-test development where applicable. The readiness brief preserves unresolved requirements so the supplier can respond to the actual scope.

Keep the review concrete

Include these requirements in your enquiry

01

Exact device and package are identified

02

Approved image and address map are controlled

03

Programming access and board power are defined

04

Unique-data and protection requirements are specified

05

Verification and functional-test criteria are separate

06

First-article approval and traceability are assigned

Mark unresolved items explicitly. Ask the quotation to identify proposed exceptions, required customer approvals and any inspection or special-process charges that remain open.

IC Programming FAQ

Can you program every IC?

Device, package, interface and job requirements must be reviewed. This page does not claim a universal supported-device list.

Is programming verification the same as functional testing?

No. Verification checks the programmed data or job result through the supported method; product function requires its own procedure.

Is the time tool a quotation?

No. It uses your timing assumptions and does not check capacity, device support or material arrival.

Discuss your IC Programming requirements

Send the scope you want reviewed

Add a project brief or reference budget from the tools above. Include your assembly revision, requested quantity, required timing and open engineering questions.

For a programming review, identify the exact device, package, board revision, intended programming route and released firmware version. Provide the programming procedure and required verification or test records. Arrange an agreed transfer route before sharing proprietary images; do not paste private signing keys into an enquiry. Include quantity, first-article requirements and required timing.
