Notes:
For PCB fabrication, we require PCB design file in Gerber RS-274X format (most preferred), *.PCB/DDB (Protel, inform your program version) format or *.BRD (Eagle) format. For PCB assembly, we require PCB design file in above mentioned format, drilling file and BOM. Click to download BOM template To avoid file missing, please include all files into one folder and compress it into .zip or .rar format.

REFERENCE BUDGET · USD
Bare PCB planner →
Assembly processing + stencil

Choose a supply arrangement. Component procurement and PCB fabrication are reviewed separately from this processing budget.

How this reference budget works

The planner uses the existing PCBSync assembly processing model. Its stencil allowance is USD 35 for a one-side set or USD 60 for a both-side set, multiplied by the number of sets. These are uncalibrated planning allowances, not published selling prices. Frame size, apertures, coating and custom construction require review. Assembly quantity means individual boards, not panels.

The displayed ±12% spread is illustrative, not a validated accuracy claim. Special requirements are listed separately and do not silently enter the total. Turnkey selection does not price your BOM. A final quotation requires engineering review of the actual files and material availability.

Valid planner settings can be retained in this browser tab for up to two hours; assembly and fabrication planners share the board quantity. Contact details and uploaded design files are not stored by this planner.

Plan the work before releasing the files

Release one consistent input package

Begin with the BOM, fabrication data, component positions and assembly drawing. Match revisions, reference designators, side and orientation, and identify parts that must not be fitted.

Clarify component sourcing and customer-supplied items before planning production. For turnkey PCB assembly, agree the sourcing responsibility, approved alternatives and customer approval process as part of that release. Open questions and substitutions need an approval owner rather than an assumption hidden inside a machine program.

Plan the route around the construction

A typical SMT route includes paste printing, placement and reflow, with inspection at suitable points. Match the PCB stencil specification to the released pad geometry and the intended printing process. Through-hole parts, double-sided boards and mechanical integration add their own sequencing and handling requirements. For assemblies with different local thermal loads, prepare a thermocouple measurement-site plan before comparing profile results.

Not every board follows one fixed sequence. Review board support, component process limits, access and any coating, programming or test work needed before the next operation conceals a feature.

Use inspection and test for defined purposes

Paste inspection, optical inspection, X-ray and electrical or functional testing examine different characteristics. Choose coverage according to the product and the faults or requirements that matter. Where the design includes area-array packages, define the inspection and rework expectations during the BGA assembly review. For exposed-pad devices, the QFN voiding evidence worksheet connects stencil, via, reflow and X-ray records to the applicable acceptance requirement.

A passed inspection stage does not prove every circuit function. Specify the method, acceptance limits, records and responsibility for test development as part of the build scope.

Connect the process to the quotation

State quantity, revision, timing and the delivered condition. For prototype PCB assembly, also identify which first-build questions must be answered before authorizing a larger run. The workbench captures prepared inputs and open items, while the budget tab provides an explicitly labeled processing and stencil reference.

Use the guide library to investigate a specific stage. Send unresolved process questions with the PCB assembly enquiry so the reviewed quotation can identify exclusions, development work and required customer approvals.

Keep the review concrete

Include these requirements in your enquiry

01

BOM and manufacturing files share one revision

02

Supply ownership and alternatives are controlled

03

Assembly route and board sides are defined

04

Special processes and handling are specified

05

Inspection and test coverage are agreed

06

Delivered condition and records are identified

Mark unresolved items explicitly. Ask the quotation to identify proposed exceptions, required customer approvals and any inspection or special-process charges that remain open.

PCB Assembly Process FAQ

What are the main PCB assembly steps?

Input review and material preparation are followed by the applicable printing, placement, joining, inspection and test operations. The actual route depends on the design.

Does every assembly need the same inspections?

No. Coverage should be selected against the product requirements and the characteristics each method can assess.

Does the budget include components and every test?

No. It is a reference for the stated processing and stencil scope. Materials and special work require a reviewed quotation.

Apply the current component documentation and project-specific acceptance requirements. Planners do not certify manufacturability or validate uploaded design files.
