Notes:
For PCB fabrication, we require PCB design file in Gerber RS-274X format (most preferred), *.PCB/DDB (Protel, inform your program version) format or *.BRD (Eagle) format. For PCB assembly, we require PCB design file in above mentioned format, drilling file and BOM. Click to download BOM template To avoid file missing, please include all files into one folder and compress it into .zip or .rar format.

IoT PCB Manufacturing and Assembly for Nodes, Sensors and Gateways

A connected product needs more than a radio on a board. Tell PCBSync how the device is powered, what it measures, where its antenna sits and how each assembly will be programmed and tested. We can review a fabrication-only build or a defined turnkey assembly scope.

The design decision

Separate a low-power node from a continuously powered gateway. Their construction, power budget, thermal conditions and production tests can be very different.

Choose the relevant path

Which connected product are you building?

Battery sensor node

Duty cycle, sensor interface and enclosure.

Review sleep, sampling and communication together.

Wireless controller

Radio integration, I/O and firmware.

Define the product’s interface checks.

Industrial gateway

Ports, processing, input power and cooling.

Review connectivity and configuration control.

Outdoor connected device

Exposure, connectors, sealing and service.

Separate enclosure protection from PCB coating.

Work with your own inputs

Decisions before fabrication

What to resolve before the first build

01

Choose the right build conversation

For a sensor node, bring the sensor interface, enclosure, antenna and operating-state requirements. For a gateway, include external ports, power input, processing load, cooling and service access.

A working development board is a useful prototype, but the production package needs controlled manufacturing data, approved parts and a repeatable test. Mark what has changed from the development setup.

02

Review RF in the assembled product

Identify the radio module or transceiver, antenna implementation and relevant vendor layout guidance. Show nearby batteries, cables, metal and enclosure surfaces in the review.

A module approval does not automatically settle every end-product requirement. Confirm the integration conditions and product-market responsibilities with the appropriate documentation. Bare-board electrical testing does not measure antenna performance.

03

Plan programming and identification

Specify the released firmware, configuration, serialisation and provisioning workflow. Define who owns any credentials and how authorised production information is handled. Do not paste secret keys into an ordinary quote form.

Agree which checks verify power states, sensor response, radio communication and interfaces. A firmware load that completes successfully is not a substitute for a functional test.

04

Remove procurement ambiguity early

For turnkey PCB assembly, use manufacturer part numbers and clear sourcing responsibility for each BOM line. Identify alternatives that require engineering approval, particularly sensors, RF parts and power devices.

The BOM-readiness tool counts self-reported gaps without claiming stock availability. Send the resulting questions with your inquiry so procurement and engineering review the same unresolved items.

Physical board details

Real boards: construction and connection details

These real photographs from the PCBSync media library show physical board construction and connection features. Appearance alone does not verify copper weight, internal via treatment, drilling depth or lot acceptance; request corresponding drawing and inspection records.

Engineering handoff

The information that moves a quote forward

A useful quotation starts with a controlled revision and clear open questions. Prepare these items, and mark anything still being decided.

Build an inquiry brief
  1. Controlled fabrication and assembly revision
  2. Complete BOM and approved alternatives
  3. Power source and operating-state requirements
  4. Enclosure/antenna and connector constraints
  5. Firmware/provisioning workflow and test scope
  6. Quantities, traceability and production schedule
Before you enquire

IoT PCB: practical questions

Can PCBSync quote a turnkey IoT assembly?

Provide the BOM, manufacturing data, firmware and required tests. Sourcing, programming and testing must be confirmed as explicit scope items.

Is a pre-certified radio module enough for the finished product?

Review its integration conditions and the applicable product requirements. A module’s approval should not be presented as automatic end-product approval.

Does the BOM tool check component stock?

No. It summarises the gaps you enter; availability and approved substitutions require a procurement review.

Tell us what needs to be built

Send the board revision, quantity, requested delivery and the manufacturing scope you need. Include unresolved technical questions so the quote can distinguish confirmed work from items awaiting approval.

Prepare fabrication data, the BOM and assembly drawing, enclosure/antenna constraints, firmware revision and defined test requirements. Identify provisioning and serialisation needs without putting production credentials in a public enquiry.
