Notes:
For PCB fabrication, we require PCB design file in Gerber RS-274X format (most preferred), *.PCB/DDB (Protel, inform your program version) format or *.BRD (Eagle) format. For PCB assembly, we require PCB design file in above mentioned format, drilling file and BOM. Click to download BOM template To avoid file missing, please include all files into one folder and compress it into .zip or .rar format.

Electronic Assembly: From Components to a Defined Deliverable

Specify the level of electronic assembly your project requires. Distinguish board population, connected modules and integrated products so the quotation matches the physical work and verification you need.

Prototype through production · scope and schedule confirmed after file review

Plan the work before releasing the files

Identify the level of assembly

A PCBA combines a bare circuit board with mounted components. A module may add interconnects, shielding or a display, while a system can include cables, power connections and an enclosure.

Use an assembly drawing and item hierarchy to show which level you are ordering. A component BOM alone may not describe brackets, labels, fasteners or connections added later in the build.

Coordinate electronic and mechanical interfaces

Identify connector mating faces, cable pinouts, mounting datums, component clearances and access for inspection. Explain how the assembly will connect to the rest of the product.

Document orientation-sensitive parts and hardware. A physically assembled item can still fail installation when a connector, display or cable is oriented differently from the system drawing.

Match verification to the delivered level

Board inspection checks different characteristics from programming, functional test or system-level acceptance. Define what is measured, the limits and the records required for the ordered assembly.

Provide test fixtures and software responsibilities where applicable. A statement that an item is tested should be tied to a specific procedure rather than treated as proof of every intended product function.

Prepare a buildable request

For electronic contract manufacturing, state revision, quantity and supply ownership, then include the files appropriate to the assembly level. Mark any integration or test development still needed.

The project brief can accompany your inquiry to PCBSync. Use the PCB assembly service page for board-population budgeting, and the box-build guide when the delivered item includes the wider mechanical system.

Keep the review concrete

Include these requirements in your enquiry

01

Assembly level is named

02

Item hierarchy and revisions are controlled

03

Electrical interfaces are documented

04

Mechanical orientation and fit are specified

05

Test scope matches the delivered item

06

Supply ownership and quantity are stated

Mark unresolved items explicitly. Ask the quotation to identify proposed exceptions, required customer approvals and any inspection or special-process charges that remain open.

Electronic Assembly FAQ

Is electronic assembly the same as PCB assembly?

PCB assembly is one type of electronic assembly. The broader term can also include modules, wiring and system integration.

Which files should I send?

Send the controlled BOM and drawings for the ordered level, plus board files, wiring data, software and test requirements where relevant.

Technical links checked 2 October 2026. Apply the current documentation and project-specific acceptance requirements. Planners do not certify manufacturability or validate uploaded design files.
